Work/Block Aero
Digitize Your Assets, Launch Your Blockchain
Block Aero builds a blockchain-based platform for the aviation industry, creating immutable digital records for aircraft, engines, and parts. Airlines, manufacturers, and MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) providers use it to replace fragmented, paper-heavy record-keeping with a shared, tamper-proof ledger — streamlining compliance documentation, maintenance approvals, and supply-chain traceability.
I lead engineering here, on Hyperledger Fabric as the underlying distributed ledger. That means owning system architecture end-to-end, and increasingly, building the AI-powered layer on top of it for digital asset management — helping aerospace stakeholders find, verify, and act on records faster than a traditional document trail ever allowed.
Beyond the platform itself, a big part of the role is building the engineering organisation: mentoring a team of 3 engineers through structured 1:1s and performance feedback, and fixing the processes that were slowing delivery down. Standardising internal templates and components cut project kickoff time by roughly 44%; broader process and tooling improvements brought overall development time down by about 36%. I also own estimates, timelines, and risk management across our critical development projects.
